Scholarships 2016

On behalf of the Scholarship Selection Committee, I hereby recommend approval to grant scholarship to the following individuals

Micaella Astorga Manalili, 17 years of age, is the eldest among the four children of Spouses Michael Manalili and Shiela Astorga. Her father is a tricycle driver, while her mother is a plain housewife.

Micaella graduated high school from the San Miguel National High School in 2015. And due to financial difficulties, she was not able to pursue higher education.

When Micaella heard about the scholarship programme, she hurriedly went to my place to inquire about the requirements for the application. She requested if she could be given consideration as she really wants to study to be able to improve their living condition and for her to be able to help her family in the future.

Marielle Apawan Peralta, is 18 years of age and the only living child of Spouses Victor B. Peralta and Priscilla Apawan of San Juan, San Miguel, Bulacan.

Victor is a tricycle driver while Priscilla is a plain housewife. Victor used to work as a permanent employee of Robina Farms, San Miguel, Bulacan as mechanic. But due to a heart condition (enlargement), Victor resigned from his post in 2013. It was for this reason that Marielle, who graduated high school from the San Miguel National High School in 2014 , was not able to continue her studies.

Re: Construction of San Miguel Youth Center

Dear Friends,

Our non-profit organization, San Miguel De Mayumo CUSA (SMDM CUSA) has since 2007 envisioned, conceptualized, designed and currently in its execution stage of completing the construction of its noble project for the benefit of the youth and general citizenry of San Miguel, Bulacan. This project is called The San Miguel Youth Center located at Barangay Poblacion, on a 1,900 sq.m. lot across the current site of Poblacion’s Barangay and Health Center. A lot of hard work have been done seeking the assistance of generous individuals who have contributed their time, donations in kind and cash to purchase extra land for the site along with its right of way to the site.

As of today, the Center’s building frame is up and ready for its roof construction. Financing of the roof will come from funds solicited from and provided by our very own Congressman JonJon Mendoza. With the project’s time line, SMDM CUSA is now gearing to implement the filling stage of the site’s grounds and flooring foundation. We have this month of October to complete this phase for the construction mobilization of the roof so it may commence in November as scheduled by our Project Engineer, Mr. RR Santiago.

It is for this reason that I am writing to you to appeal for your kind and special assistance. While we have enlisted the generous help of a few individuals to donate some truckloads of filling materials (i.e. Sonny & Evall Payawal, Kap. Bong Alvarez, Ex-Konsehal Ritchie, and Engr. Obet Tecson Imperio), the total need is for an estimated 300 truckloads if only to prep the priority areas of the site to enable the crane and other logistics to get onto the site itself for its roof construction. We are appealing for more donations preferably of truckloads of filling materials to supplement our current pledges from confirmed donors. SMDM CUSA believes that one (or more) truckload of filling materials from you when put together with the others can surely make this huge undertaking a reality within our limited timeframe. Maliit na tulong pag pinagsama-sama = RESULTS.

If you are able to assist in this matter, your points of contact at the site are Kapitan Ronnie Roura, Konsehal King Tecson and volunteer Alex Tecson, who will accept and guide your truck driver(s) to where the filling materials will be dumped. If you prefer donating in cash for the purchase of filling materials from our chosen contractor, you may send or hand your donation to our volunteer Mrs. Imee Domingo Villamor, Branch Manager of Planters Bank at San Jose, San Miguel, Bulacan branch. Here in the U.S., you may mail your donation to San Miguel De Mayumo CUSA Inc., P.O. Box 278, Langhorne, PA 19047 or donate by paypal via our website

On behalf of SMDM CUSA, its officers and core members, thank you very much. Your trust and vote of confidence along with your continuous support are what inspire and motivate us to continue serving and helping our kababayans as best as we can, given our very limited resources.

Congratulations to our 2012-2014 SMDM Scholars!

SMDM CUSA is very pleased to announce and present the successful candidates for the 3rd round of its scholarship program for the school year 2012 – 2014 at Bulacan Polytechnic College.  For the next two years, the selected nine scholars will enjoy free tuition fees to pursue their chosen 2-year associates degree at BPC under the sponsorship of SMDM CUSA’s generous and kind benefactors without whom this project will not be continuously made possible. May we mention too that the very efficient administration of this program is executed and made possible locally in San Miguel through the cooperation and coordination of BPC’s Directress Cecile Buencamino and Cashier, Bunny Mendoza Dino.   SMDM CUSA deeply appreciates our sponsors’ and friends’ support.  To our new scholars, congratulations.
