Mother Nature blessed SMDM with perfect weather on May 30, 2010 to hold its annual potluck picnic at Dunkerhook Park. Organized and coordinated by the Picnic Committee headed by Maritess Viray and her able team of “The Jersey Ladies” namely Jane Santiago, Gerly Soberano, Remy Sinaguinan, Menchie Garcia, Puring Villanueva and Emmie Santiago, the whole day affair was a mixture of camaraderie, laughter, bonding, meeting new faces and food galore of San Migueleno cuisine. A successful and enjoyable fund raising event, SMDM CUSA held its 2010 Disco Highlights at The Embassy Suites Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C. on August 28, 2010. In attendance were about 250 guests from New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, No. Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC who danced the night away with the pulsating music provided by the ever popular DJ Revo Castillo. SMDM CUSA, as part of its official program for the evening, presented a Plaque of Appreciation to San Miguel High School Class 1968 for its unending support. On hand to accept the award were Class 1968 members represented by Mila Sarmiento Lopez who flew in from the Philippines for the occasion, Jessie Almario of Texas, Jun Aguilar of San Diego, Bing Ileto of Maryland, Maritess Viray of Pennsylvania and Wilma Tecson Yu of Virginia.
