    2011 Medical Mission

    2011 Medical Mission
    SMDM CUSA sponsored a medical mission at Sta. Inez, San Miguel, Bulacan in coordination with Kapitan and Mrs. Bong Alvarez and the Sanguniang Barangay of Sta. Inez.  The medical mission was undertaken on August 14, 2011.   SMDM was fully supported by a team of San Migueleno doctors made up of Dr. Edwin Tecson and Dr. Jing Aure along with her invited medical professionals from UERM.  Civilian volunteers were made up of our own Treasurer, Gerly Soberano who happened to be visiting the Philippines as a balikbayan,  Medi and Alex Tecson, Vanesza Dino of BPC and our BPC scholars.     The predicted rain in the New Jersey area did not stop SMDM CUSA to hold its annual potluck picnic at Bayonne County Park on a cloudy but comfortable Saturday on Aug. 6th.  San Miguelenos from Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York were all in attendance for a full day of fun, kumustahan, kuwentuhan, pasasalamat and pagkain nang mga lutong San Migueleno.

    Fil-Am Friendship Parade

    2010 Summer Picnic

    2010 Summer Picnic

    Mother Nature blessed SMDM with perfect weather on May 30, 2010 to hold its annual potluck picnic at Dunkerhook Park. Organized and coordinated by the Picnic Committee headed by Maritess Viray and her able team of “The Jersey Ladies” namely Jane Santiago, Gerly Soberano, Remy Sinaguinan, Menchie Garcia, Puring Villanueva and Emmie Santiago, the whole day affair was a mixture of camaraderie, laughter, bonding, meeting new faces and food galore of San Migueleno cuisine. The afternoon culminated with a celebration of mass by Father Jun Esguerra and a short pep talk by SMDM’s President, Wilma T. Yu and guest Consul Zaldy Patron of the Phil.     2010 Disco Highlights

    2010 Disco Highlights

    A successful and enjoyable fund raising event, SMDM CUSA held its 2010 Disco Highlights at The Embassy Suites Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C. on August 28, 2010. In attendance were about 250 guests from New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, No. Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC who danced the night away with the pulsating music provided by the ever popular DJ Revo Castillo. SMDM CUSA, as part of its official program for the evening, presented a Plaque of Appreciation to San Miguel High School Class 1968 for its unending support. On hand to accept the award were Class 1968 members represented by Mila Sarmiento Lopez who flew in from the Philippines for the occasion, Jessie Almario of Texas, Jun Aguilar of San Diego, Bing Ileto of Maryland, Maritess Viray of Pennsylvania and Wilma Tecson Yu of Virginia.       San Miguel de Mayumo Cluster USA, Inc. is a non-profit, non-political, charitable organization which provides San Miguelenos residing in the United States a venue and vehicle to effect social transformation in our hometown.

      We seek to cultivate social awareness amongst our members to help them develop into effective and efficient agents of social change.
      We aim to nurture a sense of family within our members.
      We promote Filipino cultural awareness among the children of members born in the United States.
      We direct collective energies towards active involvement in our hometown community and society.
