SMDM CUSA launched the 2nd round of its Scholarship Program for the school year 2010-2012 by granting each of the 11 well deserving students of Bulacan Polytechnic College (BPC) a two-year free tuition award to complete their respective two year course programs. The Scholarship Project aims at financially assisting selected students to complete their studies to prepare and empower them to become productive citizens of San Miguel. In our quest to enlist support in advancing our mission, specifically, the construction of The San Miguel Youth Center, we have encountered questions (from interested parties, pundits and critics) as to why we are doing this project considering the enormous required investment. Some have commented why we don’t just use the funds and build toilets and install potable water systems in every public school, or send more scholars to post-secondary education.
